Where are you located?

West Hull. I work from home and I do not have a showroom. All the computers being sold are currently packed away in boxes so I have nothing to show anyone arriving at my door without notice. For this reason I do not publish my address here.

How do I buy one of the computers?

Please contact me either using the form on
this page or by telephoning Hull 217481. I will respect your preferred contact method and answer any questions. If you wish to view a computer we can arrange a time to suit us both and I will get the computer out of its boxes. It will be set up and working when you arrive.

Where do the computers come from?

I purchase computers and components from a variety of sources and put these together to make PC's suitable for home use.

Are the computers guaranteed?

Yes. Whoever is at fault, if you return a computer that has stopped working within 3 months of purchase I will either get it working again or replace it. I cannot, however, guarantee to save any information on the hard disk.

Is there anything I should do to avoid problems with the computer?

A good anti-virus program should be used. Unexpected email attachments should not be opened. Programs with "system requirements" close to your computer's should not be installed. Putting new programs onto an old computer will, at best, reduce its speed. If you have a collection of programs that work well on your computer, it is safest to stick with those programs.

Do you sell software?

The computers all come with an operating system and a collection of programs. These programs will include a word processor, a web browser, an email reader and an anti-virus program. Usually these programs were present when I acquired the system, otherwise I will install open source software such as OpenOffice.org or Linux. If you wish to use a chat program, this can be installed on request.

Can you deliver?

Yes. I can deliver a computer to any address with a 'HU' postcode. Provided there is a table within reach of two mains sockets and a phone socket I will set up the computer and show you how to connect to the internet. I will charge £10 for this service.

Can you deliver outside the Hull area?

I will answer this question on an individual basis when I have the full details.

Which provider do the computers use to connect to the internet?

All computers have connection set up using an 0845 number. Such a connection is intended for light use as the charge (1p per minute off-peak) can mount up. Should you wish to connect for long periods, the installed connection will let you browse the internet and find another connection package that suits you.
